Thousand Oaks shooting on November 7th, 2018, a dream from 4 days earlier has the EXACT same phone number of the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California...not sure about anything else yet
A mass shooting took place on November 7, 2018, in Thousand Oaks, California, United States, at the Borderline Bar and Grill, a country-western dance club frequented by college students. Twelve people were killed, including a police officer. One other person was shot, while twenty-four were injured in other ways. The attacker was also found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the bar and was identified as 28-year-old Ian David Long.
The shooting took place inside Borderline Bar and Grill in the outlying Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, California. The bar was hosting a regularly scheduled College Country Night event for local college students. The bar is particularly popular among students at Pepperdine University.
There were more than 200 patrons in the club when the shooting began at around 11:20 pm. A witness claimed that around 11:20 p.m., someone ran into the bar and started shooting using a semi-automatic pistol. There was a single assailant, who fired approximately 30 shots and threw smoke bombs. Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, personnel from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and multiple police departments were deployed to the scene. The perpetrator, subsequently identified by the authorities as Ian David Long, is believed by the investigators to have killed himself. The police found him dead, in an office next to the entrance to the bar, when they were eventually able to enter the building.
The initial search found one handgun. Police later discovered that the .45 caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun used in the attack had been fitted with an illegally extended magazine. While the perpetrator was not initially identified by authorities, witness reports identified a bearded, tattooed male dressed entirely in black. Another from a law enforcement source claimed him to be a 29-year-old male, and a Newbury Park, California, resident who drove his mother's car to the location.
The deceased victims of the attack were said to be 11 college students and Sgt. Ron Helus, a sheriff's sergeant who was the first emergency responder on the scene. The majority of victims were college students from Pepperdine University. According to Erika D. Beck, the California State University Channel Islands president, up to five students from the university were also present at the bar.
Several of those at the bar had also been present at the Route 91 Harvest festival, the site of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting.
Within hours of the shooting, Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean identified the suspected gunman as Ian David Long, age 28, a United States Marine Corps veteran from Newbury Park, a town inside the Thousand Oaks city limits. His gun, a Glock 21 .45 caliber handgun, was reportedly purchased legally. A neighbor of Long claimed that he suffered from posttraumatic stress disorder as a result of his time in the military and that they had "no idea what he was doing with a gun".Prior to the shooting, Long had been living with his mother.
